Laser Cut A
1.Laser plywood 4mm thick, 1220mm x 610mm ordered from Hindley’s.
2. Illustrator file Size 1 adapted, ensuring the lines are connected.

Illustrator file made tessellating the A, sized for the laser bed 810 x 450 mm, to maximize the number we can cut in one run – 24, which would make 12 trophies.There would be extra plywood and an extra run required to make the 13 trophies required by the client. Making extra would allow for colour experimentation and provide an allowance for errors, burns, burrs, knots etc.
4. Plywood cut down to fit laser bed.
5. Plywood then spray-painted metallic gold on both sides. This had been pretested for safety.
6. The etching / rasterization files were made once the client had sent over the winner’s names. They requested a font which was unavailable (problem solved) and example pictures for font justification decisions; central or left.

8. Once client chose the justification, they wanted to double check each engraving – 13 pictures taken and sent over.
9. When client confirmed everything, the correct files were rasterized and then cut via the laser.
